Hello! I’ll be using this month to learn everything I can about Monday.com, Pipedrive, and Capsule. The following videos and blog posts highlight what I learned in my process and the pros and cons of each software. Check out my weekly progress below!

After completing my first crash course on CRM’s (Customer Relationship Management), Pipedrive was up next. Pipedrive is a CRM tool geared particularly to smaller Sales teams. At first glance, it has a very minimalistic look but comes with all the essentials required for a Sales team.

Pipedrive is designed to manage inbound leads to your business so that you can track them through the process to eventually sell your product or service to those leads. The sales process -or Pipeline- provides a clear view of the opportunities available to your team which helps with the improvement of client retention rates and closing deals.

Customizations & Uses

We all know organization and transparency are key to a smoothly running business. Using Pipedrive you can manage everything including your client details, leads, emails, and contacts. When it comes to sales it covers just about everything you’d need from software. This cloud-based application requires no download. It is accessible to teams with members all over the world to keep everyone on the same page and increase sales rep accountability.

Pipedrive starts you off with a standard sales pipeline template. If you need to customize it, though, or create a brand-new one, you can easily do so in the pipeline settings as circled in the picture below. The left grey panel consists of all the major tabs like Leads, Mail, Activities, and Contacts. Pipedrive has many useful integrations — calls, email, business proposal software, and customer analytics apps.

The User Interface’s simple setup provides clear guides on how to add new information. In addition, actions are marked with color-coded tags designating them due, past due, or whichever customization you’d like. With a sales pipeline methodology built into the software, Pipedrive provides useful features to summarize deals and improve workflow.

PROS

-Deals driven CRM matched specifically for Sales teams
-One of the most affordable compared to Hubspot & Salesforce
-Intuitive & Easy to use UI
-Call & Email integration

CONS

-Not as customizable as other CRM’s (Hubspot, Monday.com, Salesforce)
-Limited functionality for the price
-Unable to send emails to multiple people at once

The Bottom Line

When it comes to tech software the easier they are to use the better. Pipedrive considers this with its simplistic UI. But as a consequence, there are limitations to the customizations you can make to the software. If you have a small business sales team looking for a simple CRM with the basics this is your go-to for staying organized. As one of the most affordable CRM’s this works for start-ups and anyone taking their first step using this type of software.
